Garbo Talks - Garbo Talks (1998)

Here is a odd album, this was released in 1998, but it was actually recorded over a 8 year period. If you listen closely you can hear the difference in the tunes through the years. Its a really good album. Something i would recommend picking it up if you get the chance.

Annica - Badly Dreaming (1988/2004)

Here is one of the best female vocalist album ever. She is from Finland although she doesn't seem to have a bit of an accent. Another must have for Hard Rock, AOR fans. Originally released in 1988, this is the 2004 Remastered version which sounds INCREDIBLE!!!

Marchello*Vestry - Marchello*Vestry (2008)

Now here is the front runner for album of the year for me. Great vocals, AMAZING guitar work! With top notch production as well. YOU MUST own this album. There is NO filler on this album! This is the Japanese version with the bonus acoustic track.

11. Gone(accoustic)

Blind Date - Blind Date (2004)

Throw in a Little Glam, A Little Hard Rock & and bit of Melodic and you have Blind Date. This is a very good album from start to finish. Has a bit of alot of bands in my opinion. Danger Danger, XYZ and some Dokken elements. But hey check out the sample track below to hear for yourself. This was my favorite Indie Band of 2004.

1. Don't Wait Up
2. Can You Feel It
3. She's Walking
4. Daddy's Little Girl
5. Broken Promises
6. Everybody's Baby
7. We Keep Falling In Love
8. Dreaming
9. Without Your Love
10. When I'm Alone

Rex Hunter - Life Goes On (1994/2007)

Here is a VERY good band! Just one problem though? IT ONLY HAS 4 TRACKS!!! Personal I love these East Coasters! Unfortunately these will be the only tracks we will EVER heard again! I would have loved to hear my from these guys! DAMN GRUNGE ERA BS!!! Another release from http://Retrospectrecords.com

1. Still Feel The Same
2. Never Say Never
3. Life Goes On
4. Playing With Fire

Bugsy Malone - Bugsy Malone (1991/2007)

Another reissue from http://www.retrospectrecords.com This is a band out of Denver with some well written songs. Very Hair Metal style with some very interesting songs. Nothing too fancy here just a very enjoyable album in my opinion. Decent vocals. well worth the price.

1. Vixen
2. Sweet Young & Vulnerable
3. This Time
4. Desire Never Lies
5. Stick To Your Guns
6. Lonely Soldier
7. Just A Memory
8. Walk Away

Maximum - Just For Kicks (2002)

Now here is an odd album, recorded mostly in the 80's but didnt get released till 2002. Personally, I'm glad it was released late because it's a good album. Cream of the crop Glam/Hair Metal, a Poison meets Motley Crue vibe going. This is a must have even if you're not a Glam fan.

01. Just For Kicks
02. Strictly Sexual
03. Candie Sweet
04. Lil' Liar
05. Dancer
06. Pennies From Heaven
07. Live It Up
08. Missing You
09. One More Shot
10. Here Come Those Tears
11. Baby Stay
12. Skin To Skin
13. Mistake
14. Paint Me A Picture

Pretty Boy Floyd (Canadian) - Bullets & Lipstick (1988)

This is the Pretty Boy Floyd from Canada NOT the one most know from L.A. They are similar in sound though. For some reason I tend to like this band better than the other. Sometimes too much Glam is just TOO MUCH!!! This is a very tough album to find these days and can fetch around 100 bucks on ebay. This band actually lost their name to the L.A. Pretty Boy Floyd in a legal settlement.

1. Welcome to the Show
2. Four for the Road
3. Somewhere (over that rainbow)
4. Proud to be Loud
5. Raggedy Ann
6. Moonshine Daze
7. This Gun's for Hire
8. Another I.O.U
9. Down on the Floor
10. Bullets and Lipstik

O'Dette - O'Dette (1989/2006)

I have both original and http://Retrospectrecords.com reissued versions of this album. I like these guys alot. Very good vocals, great sound, a true Hair Metal band! These guys are very underrated. This I highly recommend! Alot like a raw Firehouse.

1. Lights, Camera, Action
2. One Nite Stand
3. Everything I Ever Wanted
4. She's That Kind Of Girl
5. Keep You

Young Gun - Bite The Bullet (1989/2007)

If you like Danger Danger, you'll love this. Very good production along with some rocking tunes. This is the original version, but http://retrospectrecords.com/ has reissued this as well. I really like this album alot. It's one you wish had more songs on it.

1. Bite the Bullet
2. Trouble
3. Desire
4. Lady
5. Save Your Love
6. Kiss Away

Voices - Anything Can Happen (1992)

Here is another tough to find gem of an album. I really like this album and honestly I dont know why. It's good, but pretty generic. For some reason it sits in my head! It has very nice production, vocals rip, and the guitarist is very good. Has a bit of a groovy hard rock sound. Has a Shyboy, Firehouse, Loverboy feel to me.

1. Next Stop Paradise
2. Anywhere That Feels Good
3. All The Lonely
4. It Ain't Over
5. Anything Can Happen
6. Dangerous
7. Sweet Suzi
8. Are you Ready

Download Here: http://lix.in/-3aa350

Bronx Zoo - Lustfull Thinking (1989)

Another gem thats very tough to find and when you do they want alot of money for it. I've seen this pass the 200$ mark. I found it cheap, but it didn't have the CD cover. I can live with that 'cause I just want the music. This is a very good album. What it lacks in production, it makes up for musically. Loosely like Firehouse.

1. Coming Home
2. All the Way
3. Lonely Nights
4. Living in the Streets
5. Coming After You (Mr. Bill)
6. Gang Bang
7. Chained
8. Don't Throw Love Away
9. Feelin' Alright
10. Living for the Band

Download Here: http://lix.in/-330235

Double D - Double D (1994)

Here is an interesting band. Remember Zaza? This is the vocalist from that band, David Dennis. Many people tend to bash this album because I honestly think they compare it to Zaza, which isn't fair. This is a good album and deserves to be listened to on it's own merit. Nothing ground breaking here, but still a good damn album. My favorite track is "Polar Coaster".

1. Do You Believe
2. Polar Coaster
3. Maybe Tomorrow
4. Everybody Knows
5. Speak Out
6. Bad Boyz
7. Don't Let It End
8. Tara
9. Mudonna
10. Tomcat Man
11. Troubled Child
12. Rock Hard
13. Good Time

Download Here: http://lix.in/-360f77
This is a VERY good Indie album, a great production with quality songs and musicianship. Definately worth the price. This isn't the Japanese reissue, doesn't have the two bonus tracks. This album is one of those that sounds awesome on the headphones with guitar driven tunes. My fav is "Good Girls", not a filler on the album if you ask me.

1. Have a Little Pitty
2. Good Girls
3. All in the Name of Love
4. Goin' Down
5. Fire
6. Two of a Kind
7. Losin' You
8. Grab My Lovin'
9. Desperate
10. Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya

Download Here: http://lix.in/-3aa35a

Starbreaker - Love's Dying Wish (2008)

The band's second release. Harnell sounds great as usual. Very similar to their first release. Another quality album with Harnell on vocals. Another BIG must have.

1. End of Alone
2. Evaporate
3. Love's Dying Wish
4. Unknown Superstar
5. Hide
6. Building a Wall
7. Beautiful Disaster
8. Live Your Life
9. Hello, Are You Listening?
10. Changes Me
11. The Day Belongs to Us
12. This Close

Starbreaker - Starbreaker (2005)

This is Tony Harnell's band from TNT Fame. This whole band is a sorta all star band from many other groups, but by far the best for them all. I love TNT and this is a bit like TNT but heavier. Has a modern feel but didn't stray to far from the metal sound. It's BIG, it's LOUD and of course the exceptional voice of Harnell. The whole friggin album is EXCEPTIONAL! Similar to TNT, Westworld.

1. Die For You
2. Lies
3. Break My Bones
4. Crushed
5. Days Of Confusion
6. Transparent
7. Light At The End Of The World
8. Cradle To The Grave
9. Underneath A Falling Sky
10. Turn It Off
11. Dragonfly
12. Save Yourself

Defcon - Defcon (2005)

Out of Chicago, Defcon sounds like they are off the Hollywood strip. They put out 4 Demo's which have been compiled by http://retrospectrecords.com/ to form this album. Similar to Hurricane, Danger Danger. Another great release to pick up!

1. How Close
2. Time Waits
3. My Time To Fly
4. Into the Night
5. Rock Me
6. Don't Stop The Lovin
7. Cold Hearted
8. All Your Love
9. What You're Hungry For
10. Never Too Far Away
11. All Night Long
12. Hard Loud & Heavy
13. Rock n Roll Machine (LIVE)
14. Down the Road (LIVE)

Demure - Demure (2005)

More Hair Metal from Canada. A VERY good band. The first track, "Not Worth Dying For", could have been such a huge hit. Similar to Winger, Danger Danger. This is another release from http://retrospectrecords.com/ I LOVE THAT PLACE! The one issue I have with this album is the vocals are out done by the music, which sucks cause the man has pipes! They do a good cover of Hot Chocolate's "Sexy Thing". This is a great album to have in your collection.

1. Still The Same
2. Miles Away
3. Little Lick
4. Lonely
5. You Can Have It All
6. Sexy Thing
7. Sooner Or Later
8. Touch Me
9. Not Worth Dying For
10.Helpless
11. Land On Your Feet

Pair A Dice - Pair A Dice (2008)

Straight from the Hollywood Strip comes the infamous Pair A Dice. You wanna talk about 80's ?Here ya go. One of the best unsigned bands ever! Thanks to http://retrospectrecords.com/ everyone can enjoy their first "official" release. Also the band is recording a new album for a 2009 release! If you like Lancia, you'll love this. This is a GOTTA have album.

1. Stay the Night
2. Nasty Girls
3. Nowhere To Run
4. Where's Jenny
5. Midnight Train
6. I'll Be There For You

Manzana - Nothing As Whole As A Broken Heart (2007)

A Finnish band with a Spanish name, go figure huh? Well whatever the name, this band rocks! Female fronted Gothic, modern Melodic Metal. If you like bands like Within Temptation but heavier, you'll like these guys alot. I'm a fan of female fronted bands so of course I like this album. Compares to bands like All Ends, Unsun, Half The World. I would recommend this one.

1. Pain
2. Falling To Pieces
3. Silence
4. Mermaid
5. Gift
6. Call
7. Cripple Heart
8. Diamond
9. Valentine

Anxiety - Fearless (1993)

Canadian band eh? This is actually a very good indie debut. This is a melodic hard rock album at its best. Similar to Cry Wolf with tons of backing vocals that are actually pretty good and not too over the top. The one problem, at least for me, is the music tends to drown out the vocalist a bit. Other than that I would recommend this to those who like Hair Metal with a touch of Glam.

1. Take Me All the Way
2. Angel Heart (Deadly Weapon)
3. Back in My Life
4. You're the One
5. I Am the King
6. Onnie
7. When I'm Around You

Revolution Renaissance - New Era (2008)

Do you know the Finnish band Stratovarius? Well this is Timo Tolkki's(guitarist) new band. Although this album has three different special guest vocalist, Michael Kiske (tracks ,2,4,8,9,10), Tobias Sammet (tracks 1, 6) & Pasi Rantanen (tracks 3,5,7). This is a VERY high quality Melodic Metal album. Timo has now formed a full time band with a vocalist (Gus Monsanto), Bassist (Justin Biggs), Drums (Bruno Agra) & Keyboards (Mike Khalilov) and are already recording for a 2009 release.
.
1. Heroes
2. I Did It My Way

5. Eden Is Burning
6. Glorious and Divine
7. Born Upon the Cross
8. Keep the Flame Alive
9. Last Night on Earth
10. Revolution Renaissance

Kinki Stunt - Kinki Stunt (1994)

Kinki Stunt is a Las Vegas band that would have been bigger if they came out 5 years earlier. Some pretty catchy songs. Don't know what to categorize them as, kinda Hard Rock, Glam, Hair Metal. It's definately one to have in your collection.

1. I Would Fly
2. For A Little While
3. Shitfaced
4. So Long
5. Devil's Grin
6. Dreams
7. Johnny Law

Ontray - C'mon, Taste It (1988)

Why this is such a sought after album i'll never understand. I've seen this album hit the 200$ mark at times. This is just better than average, good production. Overall its a "good" album but if you pay more than 20-30 bucks for this your a sucker. I'll say it again everyone... CHECK THOSE CUTOUT, BARGIN BINS!!! You can find these things from 1-10 bucks on average, i paid 8 bucks for mine a few years ago.

5. Night
6. Bad For Me
7. Black Lace
8. Go For It
9. Wastin' No More Time

If Only - No Bed Of Roses (1992)

Now here is a very good band most won't recognize and should. a Femal fronted band that rocks! its a bit on the poppy side but has some bluesy ballsy tracks as well. Similar to Lee Aaron, Vixen. Its what i would refer to as a nice album, shame there weren't more. There is another released Version of this album which is titled "Destiny" with original singer Jackie Bodimead, which you might know from Girlschool. This is the japanese reissued with bonus tracks.

1. Loaded Gun
2. Tumblin' Dice
3. If Love Could Last Forever
4. I'm No Angel
5. No Bed of Roses
6. Easy Lay
7. Rock and a Hard Place
8. Red Hot Heaven

11. Long Way From Home
12. Man Against the World
13. All Over
14. Stand Like a Stone
15. Don't Let Go
16. Shotdown

Reckless Youth - Invisible Robot Fish (1993)

Ok i know your thinking what a dumb ass title for an album, your right! but guess what? This album is very good! The production is top notch for an indie! only 5 songs on this album i wish there were more. Similar to Poison, Ratt without the gritty vocals. Definately worth a grab if you can find it. ive seen this sell for close to 100 bucks on ebay!

1. Beg, Borrow & Steal
2. Any Little Girl's Wish
3. One More Night Alone
4. No Way
5. When It's Over

Road Ratt - Real CD 2 (1992)

This band is out of Sweden, a pretty funky groovy hard rock band in the vein of Slammin' Glady's, Saigon Kick. This album seems to have two titles, although the real title is Real CD 2, not Resurrection. This is definately worth a listen and a tough one to find. Be on the look out for there 2008 release as well through http://Suncityrecords.com

1. Ragman City
2. Use The Lighter
3. Resurrection
4. Itsypooked
5. Mr Preacher

7. Beggar's Day
8. Funny People
9. I Wish
10. Shake It Up
11. Turn Me On

Cariot - Right Between The Eyes (1993)

A very interesting band here. This ablum is pretty damn good, but i find it sounding alot like old Bon Jovi, White Lion (specially "Goodbye" youll swear thats Mike Tramp). lots of Keyboards. Production isn't to bad, but i find the vocals are a bit tough to hear over the music at times. A worthy album to pick up if your a collector.

1. Lady
2. Running
3. Someone
4. Miss U
5. Borderline
6. F**K 'n' Destroy
7. I'm Comin'

11. Right Between The Eyes
12. Good-Bye (Acoustic)

Download Here: http://lix.in/-3798ca

Chosin Few - Chosin Few (1988)

Another band with just one release. This album seems to have as many haters as those that like it. I personally like it, specially the song "Had It All" & "A Wave Goodbye". This is a quality release from an indie band. Definately worth picking up if you can find it for a resonable price. To me they sound alot like Holy Soldier when Stephen Patrick was the vocalist.

1. March On
2. California Squeeze
3. Daydream
4. A Wave Goodbye
5. Lost One
6. Hooters
7. I Don't Want

Xenon - Simple (1995)

This is their sophomore album and it's even better than the debut in my opinion. Seems to be a little on the softer side but dont let that fool you this is another GREAT release from the band. And again great vocals and musicianship. "Am I The One" & "Day You Let Go" are just awesome tunes. GET IT!

1. Am I The One?
2. The Day You Let Go
3. One Look
4. Feels Like Home
5. China Sky
6. Lay Me Down
7. Overnight Sensation

Download Here: http://lix.in/-360d65

Xenon - America's New Design (1989)

Here is a band that's pretty much undiscovered and if you don't it's a mistake because these guys are VERY good! This is a band that should have gone somewhere but due to the bullshit grunge minute bands like these got scrapped. You HAVE to have their albums. I can't really say who they sound like, but the vocalist sounds alot like Kelly Hansen of Hurrican fame. Very moody, GREAT Musicianship.

1. Tip of My Fingers
2. Here When I Need You
3. So Hard
4. Maybe
5. Safe (Till the Morning)
6. On and On
7. A Night to Remember
8. Thru the Rain
9. Holding On
10. Cry in the Night

Blue Ruin - Blue Ruin (1992)

Here is a nice little gem i found for 6 bucks last year. I see it sell for 30-70 bucks on ebay. Its a good release but not worth 70 bucks. this is a groovy hard rocking album that everyone should have in there collection. Sounds a little like the band Tora Tora to me.

1. Old Pine Grove
2. Rock and a Hard Place
3. Misty-Eyed and Blue
4. Take It or Leave It
5. Desire
6. Best Won't Do

Download Here: http://lix.in/-3dae8a

Big Blue - Road To Promised Land (1995)

Big Blue is another good German band. This is their only release which is a shame its a pretty damn good debut. They do seem to have a sound that influenced by many bands. If i had to compare. Europe, Harem Scarem, Craaft...

2. You're the One
3. With the Tear
4. Road to Promised Land

Download Here: http://lix.in/-3c2843

Belfast - Dream Machine (1994)

Here is another band that was one and done. This is their debut and only release. You can usually pick this up cheap in bargin bins and its worth it at any price. If you like bands like Roxxi, Heavens Edge you will like this.

4. So Hard Loving You

11. Sythena

Download Here: http://lix.in/-3dae94

Antix - Get Up, Get Happy (1984/2007)

Here is a cool little band that most won't know. Sounds a bit like Dokken and not too shocking since Don Dokken & Jeff Pilson of Dokken produced the album. This has also been rereleased through http://retrospectrecords.com/ if you like the 80's style hard rock/metal this is a good one to pick up.

1. Days Gone By
2. Anytime 3.
Get Up, Get Happy
4. Caroline
5. Same Possibility

Download Here: http://lix.in/-3486d8

Cheyenne - Rebel Underground (1991)

This is the one and only album for these guys. this is a "ok" album for me. production lacks and im not a huge fan of the style. If you like Faster Pussycat you might enjoy this CD. The Band Changed their name to Little Rebels in 1995/96 and rereleased with with bonus tracks. problem is the production was still the same. Not bad but just not my thing. back into the vault it goes...

Tango Down - Take 1 (2005)

This Band is kind of an all star band with members from many other bands. Most will recognize the vocalist, Phil Naro from MANY other projects. This is a rocking album with some killer ballads as well. Alot like Firehouse but not so glossy.

Jones Street - Dancin' With the Devil (1995/2008)

Here is another nice little find of a band! This is a reissue from their 1995 release from the bands independant label. VERY catchy! If you like sleazy hair metal this is for you. Reminds me of Wildside and a bit of Skid Row at times. Definately a keeper.

D

Kid Cyote - Animal Lust (1990)

A Band out of Dallas, Texas that isnt too well known. bout a above average release in my opinion. Very tough to come by and when you do it fetches a pretty good penny on ebay. I Enjoy this CD quite a bit. Kinda reminds me of a less polished Skid Row.

3. One Summer's Dream
4. Undercover Lover
5. Find Your Way Back
6. Hang On
7. Close Your Eyes

Whitefoxx - Whitefoxx (1980's/2007)

Yet another band out of Philly. Although never signed a deal we're still followed heavily back in the 80'. The did a 4 track demo which gained some attention but alot of the band members where coming and going and didnt stablize till the late 80's which is probally why they never made it out of the area. Thanks to a GREAT! company named http://Retrospectrecords.com these awesome bands are now being remastered and reissued! VERY 80's great melodic hard rock/metal.

1. Beverly Hills
2. Love Is on the Way
3. Right on Time
4. Fox in White
5. Actions Speak Louder Than Words
6. Strangers

Jet Red - Jet Red (1989)

A unknown band to most as they just released this one album in 1989, very underrated if you ask me. It's a bit on the melodic pop side but still has some great Songs. Look in Your Eyes is a pretty damn good ballad! If you like Firehouse, im sure you like this album.

1. Bad As Heaven
2. Lonely
3. Look In Your Eyes
4. Not the Only One
5. Outside
6. Lolita
7. Parlez-Vous Francais
8. Let It Roll
9. Take Me Tonight
10. From the Skies

LeCompt - LeCompt (1992)

Another band out of the Philadelphia area. more toward the bluesy/hard rock side but well worth a listen. Has a couple of radio ready tunes on it but for me the best song is S.S.C.P. Similar to Tangier, Britny Fox, Cinderella.

1. All the Days Gone By
2. Here Comes Trouble
3. Gypsy Heart
4. Love Is Lethal
5. Walkin' Away
6. S.S.C.P.
